Apply For A Scholarship

The South East Florida Apartment Association promotes professionalism in the apartment industry by providing qualifying applicant(s) the opportunity to receive a partial scholarship to aide with the necessary costs in obtaining a National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) designation such as CAM, CAMT, CAPS, or a Pool and Hot Tub Alliance designation of CPO.

Scholarships are reviewed as they are submitted, in the order they are received. Applicants will be notified of eligibility within (14) calendar days of receipt of full application. Applications are reviewed by the SEFAA Education & Career Committee.

After review of the application, recipients will be notified of their eligibility via email.

Eligible applicants will receive a scholarship valued at 50% of the total cost of the designation program registration fee member rate*.

Scholarship Requirements

All applicants must meet the following minimum multifamily housing employment requirements:

  1. The applicant must be employed by a South East Florida Apartment Association (SEFAA) Owner/Manager/Supplier member in good standing.
  2. The individual must successfully complete the attached Education Scholarship Application and include all documentation as requested on the Application. (Note: Incomplete applications will not be accepted.)
  3. The individual must successfully pass all course requirements. If the course is not completed or if the course is not passed within 9 months of enrollment date, the individual must reimburse South East Florida Apartment Association (SEFAA) for the full amount of scholarship monies awarded.

Program Requirements

The following requirements must be met to be eligible for each class.

Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT)

  • Possess a minimum of one year of rental housing maintenance experience (which can be obtained while taking this class).
  • Meet all examination and course requirements within 12 months of declaring candidacy for CAMT and pass the exam.

  • Possess a minimum of one year of property management experience (which can be obtained while taking this class).
  • Meet all examination and course requirements within 12 months of declaring candidacy for CAM and pass the exam.

  • Possess a minimum of one year of rental housing maintenance experience (which can be obtained while taking this class).
  • Meet all examination and course requirements within 12 months of declaring candidacy for CPO and pass the exam.
  • This class was hosted in April of 2026. Check back to our calendar at the end of the year for dates of the 2027 course.
  • Minimum of 24 months employment as a multi-site supervisor OR be a CAM in good standing with 24 months employment as an apartment manager.
  • Successful completion of all CAPS course work (totaling 40 hours)
  • Pass the CAPS exam within six (6) months of declaring candidacy

*Scholarships are awarded as long as funds are available in the Education Fund, unless otherwise authorized by SEFAA’s Budget and Finance Committee.

**Individuals are eligible for one scholarship PER designation as long as separate applications are received (e.g. one application for CAPS, a separate application for CAM, etc.)
